Kyle Blackmore

Kyle has been married to his lovely wife Winter since 2007. He has three wonderful children named Kaleb, Kasey, and Kaiya. During his downtime he loves to build and collect Lego… and spend time with his family.

Jill Butte

Jill is passionate about seeing growth and learning take place in the lives of young children as they learn more about Jesus, themselves, others and our world. She enjoys building relationships with families and knows the importance of teamwork, not only with parents but also with teachers during this critical early learning stage. Jill and her husband Kevin and their two daughters Kylie and Isla enjoy skiing the cold smoke, camping in Glacier National Park, and traveling to see family.

Aaron Canen

Aaron was raised in Glendive, MT where he met his wife, Mara. They were married in the Glendive church he grew up in, where his father served as pastor. He and Mara studied at Montana State University, where Aaron received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Technology. Aaron has a passion for facilitating the intersection of art and technology.

Darren Carlson

Darren has been at E-Free since January 2021. Darren is the Founder and President of Training Leaders International, a ministry that provides theological training to underserved and undertrained areas around the world. He is the Executive Producer and creator of Jesus in Athens, a movie telling the story of the work of God in midst of a refugee crisis in Athens. He is an above average fly fisherman, an average hunter, and a terrible golfer. He enjoys coaching basketball and baseball. He writes on occasion for The Gospel Coalition and Desiring God Ministries. He and his wife Amy have 5 children.

Lead Pastor

Paul Elias

Originally from Billings, MT, Paul now lives in Bozeman after finishing school at MSU. Paul is responsible for the musical development of our church worship teams. His desire for our church is that every person that comes through our doors would be able to experience true, gospel-inspired worship. He loves music, sports, and the outdoors.

Worship Director

Jon Kimmel

Jon grew up in central Pennsylvania as the oldest of five kids. He moved to the midwest for seminary and God has continued to move him west ever since. Jon and his wife Megan met and got married in 2011. They now have three awesome and energetic children. Their family loves to hike, play outside, and do just about anything active together.

Jon has worked with students for the past 15 years and has a passion to see students know Jesus and make Jesus famous in every area of their lives.

Youth and Family Discipleship Pastor

Kelly grew up in southeastern Minnesota and moved to Bozeman over 20 years ago. She attended Bethel University in Minnesota for both undergraduate and seminary.  Kelly has spent 12+ years in both children’s and youth ministry here in the Gallatin Valley. She loves telemark skiing, mountain & road biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, sushi, traveling the world, and baking. She has a deep desire that people young and old know Jesus personally, grow in knowledge of God, walk with the Holy Spirit, understand the Bible, and grow in their faith journey!

Children and Youth Discipleship Director

Kirsten Stewart
Kirsten serves as the Women’s Discipleship Director where she leads women as they grow as disciples who make disciples. Kirsten is passionate about meeting with and encouraging women of all ages and stages through E-Free, Montana State University, and around the community to grow as disciples, serve their community around them, and share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Kirsten and her husband, Tobin, and 3 kids – Elijah, Samuel, and Lydiana – and love any opportunity to be outdoors hiking, mountain biking, or skiing.

Women’s Discipleship Director

Mitch Thompson

Mitch is a 5th generation Gallatin Valley native. He has two daughters and a son and four grandsons. He has been a member of E-Free/Redeemer for over 25 years and is a former deacon of marriage ministries. He loves anything outdoors (especially hunting), riding his Harley, and spending time with his children and grandsons. He looks forward to serving all of you in this new capacity.

Facilities Manager

Tim is from a small town in Southeast Michigan. He attended Michigan State University and while he grew up in the church, it was during college that Tim really began to understand how the gospel should impact his faith. During college, the Lord gave him a desire to see others discipled and that began his call to ministry.

He has had various ministry experiences serving with Cru and at Reformed Theological Seminary.  He served for 7 years as an Executive Pastor in Normal, Illinois before coming to E-Free in January of 2022.

Tim has been married to his HS sweetheart Kim for over 20 years and they have 3 kids together.  He loves reading, hiking, playing board games, and connecting with others.

daniela weller

Daniela grew up in Southern Germany and has lived in Bozeman for close to two years. As a military spouse, she spent the majority of her adult life stationed in foreign countries across the globe, homeschooling her children, volunteering at church, and building relationships with her neighbors. Daniela has a degree in Business and in Psychology and loves to connect with and help people. She enjoys mountain living, gardening, trailer glamping, tending her small backyard flock of chickens, and cooking for friends and family. She and her husband Micah have two children, Savannah and Andrew. Daniela is excited about serving and supporting the E-Free Team in their mission of leading the community to transformation in Christ.
