Worship Passionately. Walk Faithfully. Work Joyfully
Worship Passionately
Jesus commands us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment" (matthew 22:34-40). Our goal is for people to know God personally and worship Him passionately. We do this by gathering weekly for worship and encouraging everyone to worship God daily.
Walk Faithfully
Jesus commissioned his first disciples to "make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19-20). Our goal is to teach people to be His disciples, to walk faithfully by receiving Jesus as Savior and obeying Him as Lord. We do this by devoting ourselves to studying the Bible and engaging in worship, prayer and Christian community (Acts 2:42).
Work Joyfully
God created us for a purpose, His purpose! "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10). Our goal is to help people discover what God has created them to do and demonstrate how to work joyfully serving the church and the world. We do this by equipping God's "people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up" (Ephesians 4:12).
It has been said that "a picture paints a thousand words", and we feel that the following six paintings provide a vivid illustration of our values. In turn, these values help define our church and its ministries.
Glory |
A Worshipping Church: God is worthy of worship. He designed sunflowers with the inclination to follow the sun as it traverses the sky. Every morning begins facing the rising sun. We have been created by God to worship Him and are invited daily to turn our face toward the Risen Son. |
![]() Finding Fertile Ground |
A Biblical Church: A biblical church is a fruitful church. In the parable of the “Four Soils,” the seed that fell along the path, on the rocks or among the thorns was unfruitful. The seed that fell on good soil, however, brought an abundant harvest. |

A Praying Church: Prayer is powerful. Inspired by Psalm 23, this painting illustrates the power of prayer. Through prayer, God provides protection from enemies and fulfillment of needs. As the psalmist sang, “But you, LORD, are a shield around me…” (Psalm 3:3, NIV). |
![]() Sharing Roots |
A Connected Church: A grove of Aspens - on the surface - may appear to be comprised of many individual trees. In reality, it is one living organism interconnected beneath the surface by its roots. Likewise, the church may - on the surface - appear to be a collection of individuals. In reality, all believers are part of the body of Christ, formed by God to live and serve in community. |

A Serving Church: God created us to serve. A Border Collie looks expectantly toward her unseen master, joyfully waiting to obey the next command. We, as followers of Christ, also focus our attention on our Unseen Master, joyfully waiting to obey God by serving others. |
![]() Faith like Seeds |
An Evangelistic Church: Nothing evangelizes like dandelions. They remind us that the church is called to evangelize the world. The gospel of Jesus Christ, carried by the wind of the Holy Spirit, spreads the message to the ends of the earth. |

In the Fall of 1973, the Western Conference of the Evangelical Church of North America (E.C.N.A.) made a decision to plant a church in Bozeman, Montana. At that time, Chris Blackmore, who was on staff at Campus Crusade for Christ, was asked to consider taking on the leadership role at the newly-formed church. After much prayer, Chris, who was an ordained pastor with the E.C.N.A. denomination, and his family made the move to Bozeman to begin the church. For the first 16 years, E-Free, as it is known today, was affiliated with the E.C.N.A. denomination. After that period of time, it was felt that the church could serve the Kingdom more effectively by affiliating with the Evangelical Free Church. Read full E-Free History, Click Here »
Bozeman E-Free Church, as it is known, is a sister church to others within the Evangelical Free Church of America. The "Free" church is a collection of over 1,200+ congregations within the United State and part of a larger international confederation of churches. The term "Free" speaks of local church being self-governing rather than being under the authority of a larger denomination. The term "Evangelical" speaks of faithfulness to the truths of the Bible, the completely trustworthy Word of God. To know more about this association of churches, go to http://www.efca.org/.

Our mission statement, we exist to glorify God by multiplying healthy churches among all people, drives our vision for the future of the EFCA.
